One two many walks..

----One two-many moments-----

Shot sometime back in Kannur beach, Kerala, India, definitely one of the cleanest beach in India, probably because of lack of popularity yet. I saw this fisherman cleaning his nets, wrapping-up for the day with a not so happy feeling with the day's catch, going back to the market and his home. On the other hand, the couples having nice walk and the children as always enjoying their time in the back. Sometime I wonder, how at the same time and same place, many moments exist together.

Big vs small...

He’s still looking for the catch of the day in midst of his friend’s bigger Chinese fishing nets in the background. This was shot at Fort Kochi, Kerala (India) and where these big fishing nets are the prime attraction.
These Chinese nets are sort of manual lift operated nets, supported by a cantilever where a man walks along the beam to push the nets into the sea. Each net is for a particular level of water and need 4-6 people to operate and given that it only catches very limited number of fishes (that crosses through that small area), I wonder how they are still able to maintain this tradition. There must be been some sense of pride in hosting them as well since I saw few new installations in progress as well.

Catching up with Dad...

I was in Tarkali in Konkan area of maharashtra(India) during the monsoon season. It was raining heavily and most of the fishermen were not able to take their boats to sea. But, they still need to catch fish everyday for livelihood and so their best bet is to try catch from near the shore itselft. Whatever they get, they thy to sell in the auction market and earn to care care of their everyday expense.

This shot was shot on the shore itself where the kid initially hesitated to go ahead with his parent to catch the fish as it was raining heavily. But, there was sudden in his mind and he decided to go and help his Dad during these tough times.
