A ramp walk..

Well, again back to my favorite in India, Varanasi. The more you want to see there the better you'll feel yourself attached to the place. India is a country of colors and there are many places in India like Pushkar or the Maha Kumbh Mela or even local fairs where one can see the play of colors but not every place can touch your soul. Well, this is a long discussion and I'll leave it for some other time but the bottomline is if you would like to know India, Varanasi is something you can consider as one place where you can get educated from Nursery to PhD.
Hope to see you soon again...

Big vs small...

He’s still looking for the catch of the day in midst of his friend’s bigger Chinese fishing nets in the background. This was shot at Fort Kochi, Kerala (India) and where these big fishing nets are the prime attraction.
These Chinese nets are sort of manual lift operated nets, supported by a cantilever where a man walks along the beam to push the nets into the sea. Each net is for a particular level of water and need 4-6 people to operate and given that it only catches very limited number of fishes (that crosses through that small area), I wonder how they are still able to maintain this tradition. There must be been some sense of pride in hosting them as well since I saw few new installations in progress as well.
